The Hong Kong Sevens is
well thought-out the premier competition on the IRB Sevens World Series rugby
sevens contest. The Hong Kong Sevens is the sixth competition on the IRB Sevens
World Series and is held every twelve months in Hong Kong on a weekend in late
March. The 2012 Hong Kong Sevens was the
37th publication of the opposition and the 6th tournament of the 2011-2012 IRB
Sevens World Series. The host sports ground was the Hong Kong Stadium. Fiji won
the heading by defeat New Zealand 35-28 in the final. The teams were separated
into pool of four teams, who played in the pool. Points were award in each pool
on a different agenda from most rugby competition 3 for a win, 2 for a draw, 1
for a loss.
2012 Hong Kong Sevens was
illustrate by manager as two separate 12 team contest, called contest 1 and contest
2. Contest 1 restricted the 12 core teams of the IRB Sevens route, who play in
every event of the IRB Sevens route, in pools A, B and C. struggle 1 contain 12
teams who have skilled through their presentation in local tournaments, in
pools D, E and F. Four of these teams were from Asia; three from Europe; two
from North America & Caribbean; one from Oceania; one from South America;
and one from Africa. This contest also doubled as a qualifying match for the
2012–13 IRB Sevens track, where the two Qualifier finalists and the winner of
the 3rd/4th place playoff earned regular contribution in all events of the
2012–13 season. This resulted from the IRB's pronouncement to increase the
number of core teams to 15, effective in 2012-13.
In 2013 Hong Kong
Sevens 8 teams from Pools A, B and C, being the winners and runners-up from
each pool, and the best two 3rd place getters, competent for the Cup Quarter
Finals. The losers of these Quarter Finals competed in the Plate Semifinals.
The remaining 4 teams contend in the Bowl Semifinals. Similarly, 8 teams from
Pools D, E and F qualified for the Qualifier playoffs. The remaining 4 teams
played in ranking matches. 2013 Hong Kong Sevens
